Matt Damon Movies

Okay...so lets just be real.  Matt Damon is the man.  His movies are consistently awesome, and he pulls off being a badass with a minimal amount of effort.  I had a real hard time narrowing this list down, because lets be honest....he's got a nice resume of movies.  Oceans 11, Saving Private Ryan, Good Will Hunting, True Grit, and so many others.  My three are based upon the fact that I can watch these again and again.

Black & White Movies

Automatically, Black and White films equal Old.  Well...in the case of my selections, they do.  However, not everyone will agree with my selections.  I had an additional selection for this category, but it will appear on a foreign language film list later on. These three (with an honorable mention) were not hard for me to pick, because these are among my favorite movies of all time.  Ironically, Grapes of Wrath (which is my favorite movie of all time), is only getting an honorable mention.  Because it is in my top 3 of all time, I couldn't justify pigeon-holing it to just black and white.  Deal with it.  Besides, Henry Fonda is in one of my top 3 selections below...so it was natural to mention Grapes.  Enjoy!

Sequel Based Series of Movies

This topic was a little bit harder to blog about,  just because its hard to link to IMDb.  :-)   Additionally, I was in the mountains for the week, enjoying the Snow, so I didn't post this on Tuesday.  Thursday is close though.

Sequel based is for 3 movies or more.  Ghostbusters franchise....doesn't count.  There is a little more flexibility in responses though, because they don't necessarily have to be trilogies or the like (as you will see from one of my top 3).  I am sure that I will hear a lot of "Why didn't you include _________?"  Lets be honest....are ALL of the movies in _____ really that good?  The James Bond series is great...but the whole thing?  Star Wars was good....but did you see episode 1?  Superman? The Matrix? Oceans 12?  Get it?

War Movies

So I decided that my first entry would be an easy topic for top 3 movies.  War movies.  Such a broad category.  Let me start by saying that whenever this topic came up, people always mention Top Gun.  Doesn't count.  Not a war, not even a conflict.  Something over the Persian Gulf with Soviet Fighters.  Get it out of your head...because it doesn't fit.  Later on if I do topic on Planes, Val Kilmer, or Good Guys Dying...it might qualify.  But probably not.
