Matt Damon Movies

Okay...so lets just be real.  Matt Damon is the man.  His movies are consistently awesome, and he pulls off being a badass with a minimal amount of effort.  I had a real hard time narrowing this list down, because lets be honest....he's got a nice resume of movies.  Oceans 11, Saving Private Ryan, Good Will Hunting, True Grit, and so many others.  My three are based upon the fact that I can watch these again and again.

Top 3 Matt Damon Movies

(always in no particular order)
Green Zone
Green Zone takes Damon's badassery (made that word up), and continues it into a current type world war situation.  Suspense, action, and intense dialogue.

The Informant
The Informant.  Puts Damon as an apparent aloof informant during a corporate crime scandal involving corn.  Yes....Corn.  Its part funny, part thriller, all good.  It just kept unwinding as I watched it...and I loved it.

Bourne Identity
The Bourne Identity.  Okay, so I used the whole trilogy in a previous post, but this is my favorite installment of the series.  The setup, the character development, betrayal, intensity, the fight scenes.  Once again....badassery (twice in one post).

Dogma (Honorable Mention)
I couldn't resist putting Dogma in this list.  Not really a Matt Damon Movie, but he has a good chunk of screen time, and I crack up every time I ever saw it.  Not a family friendly movie...just a heads up.  Little setup for this clip, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are Angels that work directly for God.

Rounders - This movie came out in the big hype of Poker (or did it start it?) but he was awesome in it, and I used to watch this movie every time I saw it on TV.

Good Will Hunting - One of my favorite movies of all time (top 20). I generally watch this movie every time it is on Tv as well.

Bagger Vance - This is clearly not his best movie, but I dont want to mention the Bourne Series, mostly because I am sure everyone else will. I really like this movie and I think he improved a great movie.

Totally agree with Steve on both Rounders and Good Will Hunting. He was brilliant in both. I would take either of these two movies over the Informant. Just sayin'.

I guess I need to watch Good Will Hunting again. It didnt live too large in my mind to be on there. Rounders is great though. Informant is still pretty fresh in my mind...and I just loved it.

OK Matt Damon. I know Damon is a good actor and I have worked with him. He is just not one of my favorites, and I don't know why.
These are the movies that come to mind.
1. My favorite is (The Rainmaker). I loved the book and the movie was just as good.
2. This next movie I worked on with him and it's (Dogma). Crazy movie but after watching it a few hundred times it kind of grew on me.
3. Just watched (The Bourne Identity). Liked it very much. Got the trilogy for Christmas. If the other two are as good as number one these will probably be my favorite.
Anyway I like Matt Damon just not one of my favorite actors, sorry.

Ian, although he was the title character in Saving Private Ryan, I didnt consider this to be HIS movie. He was merely a portion of the storyline. Had he been included in the opening scene, and not been sniveling like a bitch at the end....this would have made the list. Saving Private Ryan was under my war movies, and would also probably be under a Tom Hanks category. Dont think i have one for Tom Hanks though. I gave him credit for it on his resume at the beginning of the post. Top 3 is harder than you think. hehe

Uncle Randy,
I think you will like the Bourne Series. I dont own a lot of movies on both Blu-Ray and DVD, but when the Bourne series came out on Blu-Ray....I had to get it. Its truly a favorite of mine.

1. Ocean's Eleven - This movie was so good, I'm sure you all just forgot he was in it. :P

2. Saving Private Ryan

3. True Grit - I actually really liked him in this role.

Honorable mentions: The Departed. I guess the Bourne series were enjoyable, too.
